Darby DuComb – Seattle Lawyer

Smart Strategic Solutions

Darby is nothing short of amazing. I endorse her without hesitation.

Pete Holmes

Seattle City Attorney 2012

Darby is an accomplished multi-sector lawyer and executive with a passion for racial equity, mediation and land use. She is experienced with government, non-profits, and for-profit organizations, including emergency and crisis management.

Darby started her legal career as an appellate public defender, advocating for the criminally accused in Washington’s highest courts. She then worked on civil rights, discrimination, personal injury, environmental citizen suits, and land use cases before joining the Seattle City Attorney’s Office. Darby worked as a manager and executive for the City of Seattle where she launched the City’s Customer Bill of Rights, resolved complex multi-department service issues and led teams responsible for a number of complex, high profile matters such as the new SR 99 tunnel and U.S. Department of Justice lawsuit against the Seattle Police Department.

Today, Darby is in private practice at Darby DuComb, PLLC tackling some of the region’s toughest issues, such as seaplane conflicts on Lake Union, and the creation of affordable housing.

“…. I mentioned Darby DuComb earlier. She’s had many roles in the city. She has been a very effective person, knowing how good legislation gets passed and how you listen to all communities and make sure it gets done that way.
